Our client, a leading company in mobile-enabled technology—mobile apps, USSD, Bulk SMS and Short-codes—is seeking a suitable candidate to head its HR operations.
Reporting to the General Manager, this role will ensure that the company strategy is achieved by managing the employees through appropriate policies, programs and practices.
Key responsibilities
Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy across the companies.
Nurturing a positive work environment with a balance between the corporate strategy and employee needs.
Managing the recruitment and selection process to ensure the company has all required competencies to deliver its mandate.
Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives employee productivity while addressing capacity gaps.
Design and implement an innovative reward programme to motivate and retain key talent.
Review existing HR policies and align to best practice and guide management on HR decisions through HR metrics.
Ensure legal compliance and oversee the administration team and ensure facilities are managed well.
Measuring employee satisfaction and identifying areas that require improvement.
Prepare and manage HR plans and budgets.
Education, experience and key competencies
University degree with professional qualifications in HR
Strong understanding of Kenya employment law
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with a startup environment will be an added advantage
A minimum of 5-6 years relevant experience as a HR Manager
Valid IHRM membership and practice certification.
